CLAY Plaster
The natural and ecological choice for interior walls
It is made of clay, sand and can be reinforced with straw or fibreglass. It can have a warm and appealing texture to give the interior a unique character, or it can be painted white to look like other plasters.
Because clay plaster is made from all-natural materials, it has a low environmental impact. Clay plaster has the ability to absorb and release moisture, i.e. retain it, thereby regulating indoor humidity and promoting a healthier indoor climate.
Disadvantages include that clay plaster is less durable than cement or lime plaster and is more susceptible to impact or water damage.
It may not be suitable for areas with high humidity such as bathrooms and kitchens.
