Lime has been a traditional raw material in construction since ancient times. It is an important material for the production of mortar and plaster mixtures. Lime is also used for the production of sand-lime bricks, which have excellent sound-insulating properties. Another use is in the production of aerated concrete, which is prepared from lime, cement, sand, gypsum and water.
