LUMP LIMESTONE
The mining and processing of limestone has a long tradition in Štramberk. The company mines and processes about 800,000 tonnes of material per year, and part of the limestone with a high CaCO3 content is used for burning lump lime and for the preparation of ground limestone.
The remainder is supplied mainly to the road infrastructure and civil engineering sectors as base course material for building projects, where it provides a solid and stable foundation. For this purpose we produce unsorted fractions of 0/4 mm, 0/32 mm, 0/63 mm.

In addition to unsorted fractions, the LB Cemix plant in Štramberk also produces sorted fractions of 4/8 mm, 8/16 mm, 16/32 mm. These are mainly used for the production of concrete and asphalt mixes.

Due to its excellent physical and chemical properties, lump limestone from Štramberk is supplied for further industrial processing to ironworks, power plants and sugar factories. For these processes, the company produces limestone in fractions of 4/30 mm, 50/80 mm or 80/120 mm.

The individual fractions of lump limestone are produced according to ČSN 72 1210 and ČSN 72 1217. The quality management system is certified according to ČSN EN ISO 9001:2009.

The limestone pieces are transported by rail in hopper cars or by road.
