1500
CONTACT CEMENT

For problematic substrates with high adhesion requirements.

For bonding concrete and screed

  • High adhesion, easy application.
  • For problematic substrates, non-absorbent or very smooth substrates (e.g. smooth concrete, ceramics, umakart, metal sheet, etc.).
  • Reliably reduces and evens out the absorption of substrates, for concrete and screeds.
  • With sand, increases the adhesion of applied materials.

Area of application

  • Outdoor: floor + wall + ceiling
  • Indoor: floor + wall + ceiling

Heating and cooling area

  • Floor + Wall

Processing method

  • For hand processing
  • Bonding bridge for pre-treatment and improvement of adhesion of smooth and non-absorbent substrates such as smooth concrete, ceramic shards, tiles, umakart, sheet metal, extruded polystyrene, etc.
  • Suitable for the production of bonded screeds.

Processing details

Substrate requirement

The substrate must comply with the applicable standards, must be solid, free of loose particles, free of dust, paint, residues of demoulding products and efflorescence. It must be sufficiently rough, dry and evenly absorbent. The surface shall not be frozen or water-repellent. The substrate must be stable in volume and have the required flatness.

Substrate preparation

Depending on the absorbency of the substrate and the climatic conditions, it is necessary: degrease very smooth substrates (e.g. glazed tiles, umakart, etc.), lightly roughen with sandpaper.
Treat metal substrates with an anti-corrosion coating Cemix 1600.
When using the contact bridge on bonded screeds, apply the Cemix 1500 contact bridge on cohesive matt damp concrete moistened with water.

Preparation of the mixture

Add the dry mixture into the prescribed amount of water. Use potable water or water complying with EN 1008. Mix using a slow speed propeller mixer to a homogeneous mixture without lumps. Leave to rest. Then mix again briefly.

Processing instructions

Apply the substance with a roller or brush in an even layer on the prepared substrate. Stir the mixture occasionally during the painting process so that no coarse particles are deposited. Subsequently, apply additional material to the finished coating after a minimum of 24 hours.
When used as a contact bridge for jointed (bonded) screeds, apply the screed immediately after application - to a fresh contact bridge.
